Mid-January, young Buffy-hen went broody. She had a clutch of eggs
somewhere in the back yard. Today she brought out here chicks for the first time. All SIXTEEN of them!
I don't think all of the chicks are from her eggs. I've only been getting two eggs per day, one each from Red and Debbie. Pip has been laying elsewhere. I'm guessing she laid in Buffy's nest.
I collected all 16 little fluffballs. Boy did Buffy get upset! She even challenged and attacked the dog! Was he ever surprised

Gives a whole new meaning to, "No CHICKENS!"
Since Buffy was so upset, I returned six of the most bland chicks. I now have ten in a box with a 60w lightbulb and piece of fleece fabric. There's a board sitting on top discouraging Tane the cat's interest.
Got chicken?
